From Maturity to the Rainbow
I've always believed that this journey should unfold not just for others, but for myself as well. First comes maturity, and then comes the attainment of a beautiful world, a life full of joy—just like witnessing a rainbow in nature. The same profound feeling arises within when one reaches maturity in all aspects: physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually, or even politically. Think back to when childhood ended—a new world began, and we were compelled to explore, to become aware of our capabilities. Then came the euphoria, or perhaps more mistakes, as we searched for the right path.
Yes, this process began for me from the very first day I entered the world of art, specifically painting, and I believe it will continue for the rest of my life—it is endless. Every day, something new adds to my awareness, and no matter how much we understand or discover, it’s never enough. Hence, I initiated my collection under the theme From Maturity to the Rainbow.
In my view, an artist cannot dwell on a single subject for too long. Life is vast, and every day I grapple with various aspects of life—religion, politics, emotions, and society. My scattered focus and diverse concerns pushed me to choose, once and for all, a body of work that reflects my personal growth, my life experiences, and the influences of the society I live in. Each painting in this collection serves to express these influences. I believe an artist should contribute to the creation of thought and convey messages to the audience in an intelligent, purposeful, and mindful manner, no matter their level of awareness or capability.
The idea of merely capturing my emotions in a decorative image for a wall has always seemed meaningless to me, and it still does. The colors you see in my work are all deeply influenced by my years working in the realm of Persian painting, and, of course, by the psychological impressions left by my surroundings and time. I have never taken pleasure in dark, somber colors—they do not define me. This doesn’t mean everything in my world is romantic or sweet; rather, I find intensity in these bright, radiant hues. The combination of these colors sometimes liberates me—from joy, sadness, anger, even from the silence of my emotions and imagination. To me, all these feelings coexist; I have never viewed or thought of them as absolute.
I take great joy in the Persian blue, which often appears in my work. The swans in my paintings symbolize saints—humans who seek love and often suffer from a lack of understanding of their own essence, of something they possess but may not know how to use, or may not want to use. The pairing of the swan and the horse represents the meeting of two noble, loving beings. Often, I draw lessons from nature, observing the characteristics of animals and plants closely. I believe humans should learn from these elements and incorporate them into their lives. Sometimes I even notice that certain instincts and traits are shared between humans, animals, and plants, and I reflect this connection in my works.
The rush of colors in my paintings, the simplification of forms—they all emerge from the impatience and anxiety within me, a reflection of the mundane struggles of my life and those around me. The message of love and awakening is clear in most of my works. I love the idea of inviting people to love, and in my own life, it is my top priority. This, I believe, is a fundamental need for modern humans, especially for the people of the society I’ve lived in, who often overlook this crucial aspect, resulting in a bleak, grey community that lacks compassion for others. In my recent works, butterflies frequently appear, symbolizing patience and the journey towards a happy ending.
I have also depicted phoenixes in some of my pieces, representing the rise from ashes and reaching perfection through fire. After all, a life filled with love and artistic motivation is inseparable from who I am. Perhaps that’s why my palette is so filled with color. My works are few and far between, created not in haste but in moments when they, like poetry, demand to be brought into existence. This happens in times of overwhelming joy or deep pressure—perhaps madness, even. I have never created anything in an ordinary state of mind.
My invitation to love began here—with the lonely souls...
As Avicenna, the great philosopher, once said:
“A beautiful image in the imagination is the cause of the intensity of love.”
The intensity of love creates desire,
and desire fuels movement.
The signs of a lover’s ailment are almost limitless and so diverse that no one can fully grasp or understand them. Avicenna acknowledges that lovers are capable of “immersing themselves in a state beyond joy.”
To me, love is something like stress, pushing a person to think and then act to attain the goal shaped from that imagined desire.
According to Avicenna, if the illness of love is not treated in time and the lover is left to their own devices, they may resort to self-destruction, or fall into "burnt melancholy," which causes indifference and lack of dreams. This, if unchecked, can lead to madness or mania.
The human nature instinctively yearns for perfection and flees from imperfection. Therefore, it is essential to understand and comprehend love, recognize its wounds, and ensure it is healed. Remaining only in the realm of fantasy brings nothing but sickness and darkness.
The first step for a person in need is self-love. When you love yourself, others cannot help but love you. They cannot leave you alone when you’re in solitude, and they will not refuse to take your hand when you extend it for help. And this all begins with oneself, bringing about collective fulfillment—like creating a vibrant and joyful society.
Love is like a light in the darkness; it will eliminate all that is wicked and make even the darkest colors shine brighter.
In the end, may the goodness that is born of this remain with you forever.
With hopes for growth toward the rainbow.
